Cookie préfère les hommes, très manipulable, curieux, vif et enjoué, il aime avoir de l’attention. Il a l’habitude d’avoir de 2 à 3 heures minimum de liberté par jour. Il est en bonne santé et a testé négatif aux 4 maladies aviaires. Ce n'est pas un oiseau pour de jeunes enfants, peut mordre si bousculé. Il prend sa douche tous les matins avec le propriétaire. Il parle et aime lorsqu’on lui parle, aime être avec ceux qu'il aime, est craintif des inconnus. Lors de la mue, il est plus imprévisible et peut mordre. Peut être vocal parfois. Jamais eu de contact avec d’autres oiseaux. Fait parfois de la polyurie lorsqu'il boit trop mais rien côté médical.
L'adoptant que nous recherchons pour Cookie sera donc un homme sans jeunes enfants qui aura du temps pour lui. Il n'y aucun frais d’adoption, seul son bonheur importe. L'oiseau ne vient pas avec sa cage mais possibilité de pouvoir l’acheter du propriétaire. Nous serons très sélectifs.
La raison de la mise en adoption :
L’emploi du propriétaire demande à ce qu’il s’absente du Québec 15 jours par mois. Ça devient complexe à gérer et ce n’est pas l’idéal pour l’oiseau qui se fait garder la moitié du temps.

Perroquetsecours doit, sur une base régulière, mettre en adoption des oiseaux trouvés et non réclamés et ce faisant, il met à jour une banque de candidats et candidates intéressés à l’adoption d’un perroquet. Par conséquent et bien que cela ne soit pas sa mission principale, il arrive à titre exceptionnel et à sa seule discrétion que Perroquetsecours accepte d’intervenir pour aider une personne dans le besoin à trouver une nouvelle famille pour un ou plusieurs de ses oiseaux

Habits and personality: (text based on information provided by the current owners)
Cookie prefers men, can be manipulated, curious, lively and playful, he likes to have attention. He is used to having at least 2 to 3 hours of freedom per day. He is in good health and tested negative for 4 avian diseases. Not a bird for young children, may bite if jostled. He takes his shower every morning with the owner. He speaks and likes when being spoken to, likes to be with the people he loves, is fearful of strangers. When moulting, he is more unpredictable and can bite. Can be vocal at times. Never had contact with other birds. Sometimes has polyuria when he drinks too much but nothing on the medical side.
The adopter we are looking for Cookie will therefore be a man without young children who will have time for him. There are no adoption fees, only his happiness matters. The bird does not come with his cage but possibility can be able to buy it from the owner. We will be very selective.
Reason for placing in adoption:
The owner's job requires him to be away from Quebec 15 days a month. It becomes complex to manage and it is not ideal for the bird who is at the bird sitter half the time.

Perroquetsecours must, on a regular basis, put some unclaimed found birds up for adoption and in doing so, it updates a database of candidates interested in adopting a parrot. Therefore, and although this is not its main mission, in exceptional circumstances and at its own discretion, it happens that Perroquetsecours agrees to intervene to help a person in need to find a new family for one or more of their birds.
