Notre mandat – Perroquetsecours

Perroquetsecours is a Registered Charity Organization that makes one with the website. Its main objective is to help lost/found/stolen parrots, but its mandate is much broader.

Perroquetsecours offers its support to foster families and shelters bound by a signed agreement which temporarily accommodate a bird found by third parties and entrusted to the organization, by providing cages, food and toys.
Perroquetsecours also assumes the costs of necessary veterinary care. At the same time, we take the necessary steps to find the legitimate owner of the bird found or an adoption family, if applicable.
Perroquetsecours also organizes searches when a bird is lost, by launching an appeal to everyone and deploying available volunteers in the field.
Perroquetsecours also has the secondary objective of intervening in certain cases of abuse, abandonment or mistreatment and of helping parrots who have become orphans against their will, through its foster families or its partners. which are shelters and have an agreement signed with us, while we look for an adoptive family selected according to certain criteria.
Our mandate allows us to support any organization or shelter that assists us in our mission. Perroquetsecours can also organize events for its own benefit or for that of any Registered Charity Organization recognized by the ARC, dedicated to the cause of psittacines which supports us in our mission.
Perroquetsecours may also buy or sell promotional items, have sponsors or receive donations in order to carry out its mission.

Our mission

Although sensitive to the protection and preservation of psittacines, Perroquetsecours' mission is not to advocate in that direction, but rather to contribute to bringing together lost, found or stolen parrots and their legitimate guardians (owners). In this regard, Perroquetsecours must disregard any belief or opinion that could affect its mission. We are a group of volunteers entirely dedicated to the cause of lost/found/stolen parrots, and our goal is to add a stone to this cause through the following measures:

Helping parrots find their homes and those who love them;
Support parrot owners in their search by offering tools to facilitate their efforts and, if necessary, calling on all available volunteers to participate in the search for lost birds;
Serve as an intermediary between owners who are looking for their birds and people who have taken in a rescue and who are looking for the original family;
Recruit temporary foster families for found birds, time to search for their original family. if no foster family is available, call on our partners who are shelters and who have an agreement signed with Perroquetsecours;
Support organizations that intervene in certain cases of abuse, abandonment or mistreatment and help orphaned parrots through available foster families or shelters which are our partners and which have an agreement signed with Perroquetsecours ;
Find, through our support network, a new family who will be able to offer appropriate care, comfort and the warmth of a home to parrots left behind and unclaimed.

Please know that if you were to lose your bird, you will find in Perroquetsecours an essential tool containing information which can help you in your search as well as a family of volunteers who have at heart the cause of lost/found/stolen birds and with whom you will find help, comfort and support.
