• Birds listed as lost (413) and stolen (3) : 416 total (including 2 amazons, 4 macaws, 0 cockatoos, 1 caiques, 138 cockatiels, 72 conures, 3 eclectus, 20 African greys, 29 lovebirds, 0 loris and lorikeets, 84 small budgies, 2 ringnecks and other long tail parakeets, 0 pionus, 17 poicephalus, 32 quakers, 6 parottlets and linoleated parakeets and 6 which species were not mentioned or of any other species).
• Birds listed as lost and stolen that have found their homes: 173 total (including 2 amazons, 4 macaws, 0 cockatoos, 1 caiques, 49 cockatiels, 32 conures, 1 eclectus, 13 African greys, 13 lovebirds, 0 loris and lorikeets, 24 small budgies, 0 ringnecks and other long tail parakeets, 0 pionus, 9 poicephalus, 21 quakers, 3 parottlets and linoleated parakeets and 1 which species were not mentioned or of any other species).
• Birds listed as lost which unfortunately died: 5 total (including 2 conures, 1 small budgie, 1 poicephalus and 1 quaker).

• Birds that are still in our foster families or partner shelters: 4 total (including 1 cockatoo, 1 cockatiel and 1 ringneck or other long tail parakeet).
• Several birds required veterinary care or medication, including several cases of frostbite and extreme dehydration or birds in need of care during 2024.
• 14 other birds which required our intervention and which are not listed found, lost or stolen (including 1 amazon, 2 cockatoos, 5 cockatiels, 2 conures, 1 African grey, 1 ringneck or other long tail parakeet and 2 poicephalus) all adopted except 2 (including 1 cockatoo and 1 ringneck or other long tail parakeet).

• birds having found an adoption family through our rehousing service: 92 total (including 1 amazon, 3 macaws, 1 cockatoo, 1 caique, 20 cockatiels, 22 conures, 5 African greys, 9 lovebirds, 10 small parakeets, 3 ringnecks or other long tail parakeets, 1 pionus, 7 poicephalus, 8 quakers and 2 canaries). 1 cacatoès,1 caïque, 20 cockatiels, 22 conures, 5 gris d’Afrique, 9 inséparables, 10 petites perruches, 3 grandes perruches, 1 pionus, 7 poicephalus, 8 quakers et 2 canaris).

Total birds lost/found/stolen/seen in 2024: 774 total including 113 seen.

The Perroquetsecours organization will publish statistics and provide an annual report at the end of each fiscal year, to all donors who request it.

Results 2024

Costs

Here is the summary of the costs absorbed by our organization in order to support Perroquetsecours in its mission in 2024 and which are directly linked to the birds in foster care:

Cost of veterinary care: 3249.30 $ Thank you to our generous veterinary partners for your help and support.

Cost of basic general care (food, cages, toys, vitamins, etc.): 1265.75 $

Cost of our new automated and more efficient website: $17,128.09

These costs do not include indirectly related costs including the purchase of materials for making toys and promotional items, costs associated with our telephone line or hosting of our website, costs associated with our postal box or postal costs, printing costs for all the various documents necessary for the organization, banking and insurance costs or any costs associated with the mission of the organization.

Donations

We received from our generous donors the sum of 14,995.24 $ in money, as well as 33 carriers and used cages for small and large parrots. We keep these cages in reserve for birds that will need to stay in our foster families.

We have also been able to provide support ourselves to different organizations and shelters, by taking care of certain birds.

In order to respect people's confidentiality, only donors who request it will be mentioned. Every donation is important. It is thanks to your donations that the birds staying in foster families can be accommodated and obtain adequate care.

Perroquetsecours is a Registered Charity Organization, which means that your donation is entirely dedicated to our cause and entitles you to a provincial and federal tax credit.
