Become a foster family

• You can become a temporary foster family as an individual or shelter, by taking care of a bird entrusted to Perroquetsecours, while we take the necessary steps to find the owner or a loving adoptive family if the legitimate owner cannot be found or still in certain cases of abandonment or mistreatment. In collaboration with its partners and donors and within its capacities, Perroquetsecours will cover the costs related to keeping the bird in its foster family: cage, food, toys and veterinary care if necessary.

• To become a foster family, you must meet certain criteria. It goes without saying that Perroquetsecours is not a shelter and that birds entrusted to a foster family are there on a temporary basis. It is strictly forbidden for the foster family to give or sell a bird entrusted to them. Perroquetsecours declines all responsibility for any damage caused by the bird thus entrusted, bites or the risk of transmission of diseases to humans and other birds resident in the foster family. Before entrusting a bird to anyone, Perroquetsecours will have the chosen foster family or partner shelters sign an agreement with us.

Foster families who take in a bird that has not been entrusted to them by Perroquetsecours do so on their own initiative. In such a case, Perroquetsecours declines all responsibility relating to the bird.
