Perroquetsecours’ main mission is to facilitate contacts between people who have lost a bird and those who have found one, in order to help each bird find his way home. When a bird is found, it is often impossible to trace his owner, even if the bird wears an identification band. This is very frustrating for us, and we believe that most owners do not advertise the loss of their bird nor do they peruse the classified ads in the hope that someone found it. Furthermore, it is difficult for breeders to maintain a registry of the birds they sell. Everybody knows (or should know) that most birds will change family several times in their life.
Perroquetsecours is adding another string to its bow by creating and maintaining an active and confidential registry in which you can register your birds and their leg band or microchip numbers. This registry will be kept up to date for as long as Perroquetsecours will exist. The data collected will be kept confidential; they will never be transferred nor shared, and will be used solely to find the owners of found birds, whether or not they have a leg band or microchip. This registry will also allow us to collect data on exotic birds living in Québec.
By inviting you to register your pet birds in the Registry, Perroquetsecours provides a tool that will allow us to identify your bird and contact you quickly, to maximize the chances of finding your bird if you ever lose him.
Inscription in the Registry is free.
